KCCI archives: 'Twister' film crew buys supplies from Iowa farm

For its first day of filming in Iowa, the “Twister” crew needed some hay for props, so a local farmer bailed them out.

Portions of the popular 1996 film were shot in Iowa, including the iconic Eldora Victorian farmhouse destroyed by visual effects in the movie.

The iconic film starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt and grossed nearly $500 million in the U.S.
